Delete Your
Proofey Account

This page explains how to delete your Proofey account and the personal data associated with it. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, directly in the app — or, if you can no longer access the app, request deletion using the form on this page.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, your receipts, documents, and other data cannot be recovered.

Deletion is immediate and takes less than a minute:

• Open the Proofey app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
• Open Settings — from the menu on the dashboard or the profile screen.
• In the Account section, tap Delete Account.
• Confirm the prompt. Your account and all of its data are deleted on the spot, and you are signed out.

If you have a paid subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, deleting your account does not automatically cancel it. You can cancel any time in your device's subscription settings (App Store → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Subscriptions).

Can't sign in, or don't have the app anymore? Submit the request form below using the email address linked to your Proofey account. Our team will verify the request and permanently delete the account and its data.

You can also email us directly at hello.proofey@gmail.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”, sent from the email address linked to your account. We process deletion requests as quickly as possible, and always within 30 days.

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove your:

• Profile and account: name, email address, profile picture, and account record
• Receipts: all uploaded receipts, receipt images, and stored files
• Organized data: categories, budgets, and spending history
• Notifications: notification tokens, notification history, and notification settings
• Email forwarding: forwarding logs and verified sender addresses
• Other records: businesses, pets, health records, insurance records, and other content you created

In a few limited cases, certain records may be retained after deletion, as described in our policies:

• Records we are legally required to keep for tax, audit, accounting, or other regulatory purposes.
• Information necessary to detect and prevent fraud or abuse, or to comply with valid legal requests.
• Anonymized or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you.

Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 60 days before it is fully purged. For details, see our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy.
